Q: How much does it cost to use this service?
A: A Monthly Hosting charge is payable for this service (NO set-up fee). Prices vary depending on service level (PRO100 - PRO500) Please see our website for current pricing.
Q: Do I need my own website?
A: Yes. You must have access to your OWN website, webspace, or a blog/forum that allows the addition of HTML code to add the chat box in order to use our chat forum services.
Q: Do I need any special server requirements like PHP or ASP etc.?
A: No! All you need is the ability to add a small snippet of HTML code we supply to add the chat box to your web site, we host the chat servers and bandwidth.
Q: Can I use this service on an illegal content site?
A: NO! This includes illegal MP3 download and hacking sites.
Q: Can I use this service on an adult content site?
A: Yes! LEGAL content adult sites may use our Gold or Pro services (as they do not contain advertising)
Q: Can I modify your HTML code?
A: NO! You may only alter the parts of the code where we allow you to set your own values.
Q: Can I use your service in a 'Protected Area' on my site?
A: YES! If you need support you will need to supply us with a valid password to access your chat page.
Q: Can I remove annoying users from my chat?
A: Yes! You can EJECT users causing a problem on your site, this will ban the users IP address for up to one hour. We can also ban IP addresses permanantly in extreme cases.
Q: How many users can chat at the same time?
A: Our entry level Pro Chat Forum (PRO100) allows 100 forum users to chat at any one time. Packages available to allow up to 500 users (PRO500).
Q: Is there any advertising on this service?
A: NO! There are NO banners or popups on this service however you can add your own room banner and logos.
Q: Who can access the chat forum?
A: Any user with a Java Compatible browser can use the chat service.
Q: Can WebTV users access the chat room?
A: No. WebTV does not support Java (or much else either!)
Q: Can I set the forum to my own colors?
A: Yes. You can set main foreground and background colors for the chat forum to fit in with your site. You may also include a 120x60 logo and a 468x60 banner in the rooms and a 160x140 logo in the main login area.
Q: Can I have staff users?
A: Yes. Our Pro Chat Forum service allows 40 additional staff accounts who can warn, silence and eject forum users..
Q: Can I record things my users say?
A: Yes! You can Log all Public Chat Room activity but you can NOT Log Private chats.
Q: Can users on other websites access my chat rooms?
A: NO! Your chat forum is private to your site, only users visiting your website can access the chat rooms (it is NOT IRC based!)
Q: Do my users need to register to use the chat room?
A: No! A user simply enters a desired username, if it is not in use the user will be connected to the chat straight away, no registration is required. Advanced websites with dynamic pages may pass values for Username, Password and Profile into the forum using values within the HTML code we supply (useful for membership systems where the user has already logged into the site).
Q: Can my users send private messages?
A: Yes! Users can chat with each other in private chat windows. This feature may be disabled by the forum admin. Forum users may also disable incoming chat requests.
Q: Can I set my own room titles and welcome messages?
A: Yes!
Q: How many rooms does a forum offer?
A: Up to 10 rooms can be setup within an entry level Pro Chat Forum (PRO100). Other packages catering to up to 500 users and 50 rooms (PRO500) are available.
Q: Can I password protect any of my rooms?
A: Yes! You can set individual global passwords for one or more of your forum rooms, for use a staff area etc. Each room may also be set to allow access to only registered users (reserved usernames).
